Do you know what you want in life? Do you have what it takes to become the best; to give the best; and to live your best life? We are all on a journey. Each day that we awake, begins a new life. Today is a day of new beginnings. Each morning, I awake, my first thoughts are; “get up, there are dreams to realize.” There are times when we may be tempted to taking the easy path in life; the path that most people take. The path that is filled with "I have a job; so, I should be satisfied.", "I’m not being valued; but that’s ok!" I want you to know that we don’t have to settle. We can have whatever our heart desires. Whatever we want.
What does it take, to have what you want? Will Power. How you define will power, is a personal choice. For me it means having determination, despite life's little detours; having perseverance and pushing forward, despite the setbacks, the difficulties, the failures, and most of all; having an attitude of winning or “defeating defeat".
“If you are not bigger than the things that are trying to bring you down; if you are not bigger than any defeat that can come against you, you will never do great things.” Take for example, Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump; during their second debate, they were asked to respond to the question; “Regardless of the current rhetoric, would either of you name one positive thing that you respect in one another?” I liked Donald Trump’s response in regards to Hilary; “She doesn't quit and doesn't give up. I respect that... She is a fighter...She fights hard and doesn't quit or give up, but that is a good trait.”
Not only is that a good trait, it is determination, will power and that “defeating defeat” mentality. We can take a lesson from both candidates. If we are to become successful at anything, we must develop the same attitude of never giving-up, never quitting and most of all, being a fighter for what we want. We need to develop the “tenacity of a weed;” if you’re cut down, spring-back up again. Remember; the world always stands aside for the determined, and makes a way for the man or woman with a will. Will you go forth, despite life little detours, setbacks, and obstacles? Will you commit to your dreams? Are you willing to burn the bridges behind you, and commit to stay the course?
